Brush weekly with a soft bristle brush or rubber curry brush to remove loose hair and distribute natural oils across the short, flat coat. A grooming mitt works well for quick maintenance sessions. Despite the short coat, regular brushing significantly reduces shedding around the house.

Bathing Tips

Bathe every 6-8 weeks or as needed using a gentle, pH-balanced shampoo. Their short coat dries quickly and requires minimal effort. Use a moisturizing oatmeal shampoo if the dog has dry or sensitive skin, which is common in the breed. Avoid over-bathing as it strips natural oils.

Bull Terriers shed moderately year-round with an increase in spring and fall. In Houston summers, apply pet-safe sunscreen to areas with thin or white coat coverage, especially the nose and ears. Their short coat provides minimal insulation, so monitor for overheating in extreme heat.
