Bathing Tips

Bathe every 2-3 weeks using a moisturizing shampoo and a rich conditioner. The long coat tangles severely when wet, so apply conditioner liberally and work through with fingers before rinsing. Never rub the coat with a towel; instead, gently squeeze excess water out and blow dry from skin outward on medium heat.

Seasonal Care

Lhasa Apsos have a single coat that does not shed seasonally in the traditional sense, but they do lose hair continuously. In Houston humidity, the coat may absorb moisture and mat more easily. Use a dehumidifying coat spray in summer months. The coat provides some sun protection but monitor for overheating.
