Brushing Routine

Brush 2-3 times per week with a rubber curry brush or grooming mitt to manage their short, dense coat. The curry brush works best in circular motions to capture loose hair and stimulate the skin beneath their heavy folds. A soft bristle brush provides a finishing pass for shine.

Bathing Tips

Bathe every 4-6 weeks with a medicated or antimicrobial shampoo, as this breed is prone to skin infections in their extensive wrinkles. Every single fold and wrinkle must be washed, rinsed, and completely dried. Use a high-velocity dryer to ensure no moisture remains trapped in folds.

Extend Your Grooming Results

Seasonal Care

Moderate shedding year-round with slight seasonal increases. This breed is extremely heat-intolerant, so summer grooming should prioritize dead coat removal and wrinkle hygiene. In humid climates like Houston, increase wrinkle cleaning frequency to prevent yeast and bacterial overgrowth.
